In 2023, I randomly discovered a Canadian clothing company called Miik Inc. Designed by women for women and showcasing women of all sizes and ethnicities, I was immediately drawn to the classic and on-trend styles that are exceptionally comfortable (everything is knit), made from sustainably sourced fibres, and ethically manufactured. I was also attracted to their support of charities close to my own heart such as Indigenous education, Plan International, youth at risk, and others. Their clothing has now become a staple in my own wardrobe.
In January 2024, I participated for the first time in Miik’s 10 x 10 Challenge, where I, along with other Miik Community Group members, shared 10 outfits created using 10 pieces (not necessarily Miik) from my wardrobe.
I have always loved the concept of a capsule wardrobe, introduced to me when I was in my 20s through a video called Five Easy Pieces. I have used the idea of a mix and match wardrobe throughout my life for myself, my husband, and my kids (even when they were adults), and even for my own children’s clothing business in the 1990s. I recently (January 2025) became a Miik affiliate, and I am delighted to showcase them on various platforms. I receive a small commission when you purchase through the links I provide.
My hope is that you are inspired by the combinations I showcase below to develop your own capsule wardrobe. I started building my wardrobe using “core” neutral pieces from Miik Inc., and I suggest you do the same. I chose navy as the base of this capsule with a few of my own pop colour garments added in.
Here's a photo of my 10 pieces.

My 10 pieces included a navy dress with white collar, navy blazer, navy high-waisted slightly wide straight pants, and a navy striped tank top from Miik Inc. along my own red cardigan, navy sheer-sleeve blouse, red and white top, blue print sleeveless top, jean skirt, and medium wash jeans. Here are the outfits with links to the Miik Inc. products. Click on each element to go directly to the listing on the Miik website.
#1 - Shandra reversible neckline navy striped tank top, Reed high-waisted pant in navy with pockets, and Sienna girlfriend blazer in navy accessorized with red pumps.

#2 - Here I swapped out the Reed pants for my own jeans and added white sneakers and a black belt.

#3 - Still wearing the Sienna blazer and navy striped Shandra tank, I swapped out my jeans for my dark wash denim skirt, and added black tights, black pumps, and a black belt.

#4 - Here I swapped out the Shandra tank for my red and white top and topped it with my own red cardigan, accessorizing with black booties and a black belt.

#5 - Back with my navy Sienna blazer, I added in my own blue print sleeveless top and traded the pumps in for black flats.

#6 - Here I am wearing my navy high-waisted Reed pants with my navy blouse with sheer sleeves and embroidered daisies. I added a wide black belt and black pumps.

#7 - Here I've topped my navy blouse and navy Reed pants with my own red cardigan. Same accessories as the last one.

#8 - This is the navy Adelaide collared long sleeve dress topped by my navy Sienna girlfriend blazer. Accessories include black tights, black pumps, and a red belt for a colour pop.

#9 - Blue print sleeveless top, dark wash jean skirt, red cardigan, black tights, black flats, and black belt.

#10 - Blue print sleeveless top is topped with the Sienna girlfriend blazer, Reed pants, black belt, and black pumps.

Here are five bonus outfits made with the same 10 articles of clothing just to show that there are still lots of options!
