I have been part of church music ministry for many years as a vocalist and pianist. When a fellow worship leader spoke over me in 2000 that I would "write music for the Lord," I started on a songwriting journey that led me to record two CDs (Turn the Page and Red & White) and a single ("Holy Spirit").

WHO WRITES FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS

I have published five children's books. All of them have been either shortlisted for or won writing awards.

The Two Trees, a picture book for ages 5-9, is about a boy on the autism spectrum.

Beneath That Star, also for ages 5-9, is about a young girl who has an unforgettable encounter under a bright star.

The Underdog Duckling, for ages 6-9, is about a young boy who has to go live with his grandfather when his mother falls ill and must be hospitalized.

My two animal trivia books, for ages 8 and up, When Sleeping Birds Fly and When Crocodiles Cry each include 365 amazing, silly facts.

I also write journal articles, mostly about writing, songwriting, and science education. My articles have appeared in a wide range of magazines and newspapers.

One of my favourite things to do is write short inspiration stories. I have won a number of contests and writing awards for both my fictional and non-fiction stories. This is something I would like to do more of!

I primarily photograph nature, wildlife, and landscapes, and am known for my "painterly" style. My work can be found in fine art galleries, gift stores, and high-end bookstores.

RECORDING ARTIST, AUTHOR, AND VISUAL ARTIST

After successive careers as a scientific editor, children's entertainer, and educator, Sally quit her corporate position in 2013 to focus full time on the arts. Since then, Sally has written five children's books, contributed to various anthologies and magazines, facilitated workshops, had her music released to Christian radio around the world, and has spoken to thousands of children about topics she is passionate about, including the importance of the arts, being kind to those who are different than you, and the wonder of science and nature.

Sally is a national award-nominated singer-songwriter, award-winning author, avid photographer, and visual artist. A multi-career, multipassionate creative, Sally continues to explore her creative journey as the Lord leads.
